William E. Galloway 1943-2008

BLUE SPRINGS, MO—Bill Galloway, 64, of Blue Springs died Thursday, May 1, 2008.

Funeral service will be at 7 tonight, Monday, May 5, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, South State Route in Blue Springs.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 tonight at the church.

Meyers Funeral Chapel of Blue Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Stroke Association.

A son of Alvin M. and Rose A. McGowan, he was born Oct. 6, 1943, at Carroll, attended Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1962.

He and Emily Schettler were married Feb. 4, 1967.

Mr. Galloway worked Associated Wholesale Grocers for 25 years until retiring in 1998.

He was a 22-year member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, former member of Teamsters Union Local 655, coached his daughter's softball team for more than 10 years and enjoyed golfing and watching basketball, baseball and football.

Survivors include his wife, Emily, of Blue Springs; two children: Jennifer Means and husband Michael of Kansas City, Mo., and Kyle Galloway and wife Angela of Blue Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren: Ethan and Carter Galloway and Tanner Means; four siblings and their spouses: Joel and Janice Galloway of North Pointe, Mich., Sara and Neil Kruse of Plano, Texas, Rozanne and John Phillips of North Pointe, Fla., and Judy and Tom Peterson of Eugene, Ore.

Mr. Galloway was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alvin Galloway.
