Maxwell Joseph "Max" Kies 2006-2007

WALL LAKE— Mass of the Angels for Maxwell "Max" Kies of Wall Lake will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda.

Max, 20-month-old son of Jason and Jill (Steinkamp) Kies, died Sunday, Dec. 9, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll following a long illness. The Revs. John McGuirk and James McAlpin will concelebrate the Mass. Lector will be Kate Kies. Gift bearers will be Jodi Lenz, Julie Burcar and Jenni Steinkamp. Servers will be Matt Stork, Sam Kemper and Ben Boeckman. Eucharistic ministers will be Madonna Boeckman and Lori Snyder.

Casket bearers will be Chad Kies, Brian Steinkamp, Bill Kemper and Jerome Bruns.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Wall Lake.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 and a Christian wake service will be held at 7 Wednesday night at the church.

Max was born April 18, 2006, at Carroll. He lived with his family on their farm northwest of Breda.

He enjoyed his dog Dixie, popcorn, watermelon, tractor and combine rides with his Dad, four-wheeler rides with his Mom and riding in his grandfather's truck.

He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wall Lake.

Survivors include his parents, Jason and Jill Kies, of Wall Lake; his grandparents: Kenneth and Linda Steinkamp of Breda and Rene Kies of Wall Lake; his great-grandparents: Rose Snyder of Carroll, Hilde and Herbert Arnold of Wall Lake and Raymond and Maxine Kies of Lake View; and aunts and uncles: Jodi and Scott Lenz of Carroll, Julie and Shane Burcar of Gilbert, Ariz., Jenni Steinkamp fiancé Kris Maines of Mesa, Ariz., Brian Steinkamp of Ankeny and Chad and Kate Kies of Geneseo, Ill.

Max was preceded in death by a grandfather, Stanley Kies; his great-grandparents: Walter Steinkamp and Walter and Christine Snyder; and a aunt, Tiffany Kies.
