Gary Theodore Boes 1948-1996

Gary Boes, 47, of Denver, Colo., and formerly of Breda, died Thursday, March 7, 1996, at Rose Medical Center in Denver.

A memorial mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 1996, at St. Bernard Church in Breda. Father Thomas Hart and Farther Marvin Boes will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Breda with military honors provided by the Breda American Legion.

Lector for the Mass will be Dorothy Heisterkamp. Gift bearers will be Carol and Gary Stark, Larry Boes and Michael Rodel. Mass servers will be Jay, Nathan and Steven Pudenz.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home for the St. Bernard Endowment Fund.

Born Dec. 27, 1948, at Carroll, he was a son of Edmond and Wilma (Pudenz) Boes. He spent his younger life in the Breda community and graduated from St. Bernard High School.

Mr. Boes was a teacher at various schools in Omaha and at Boys Town in Omaha. For the past 12 years, he had taught school at Meadow Point Elementary School in the Cherry Creek School District in Colorado.

He served in the United States Air Force in Korea at the Philippines and was stationed in Minot, N.D. Mr. Boes was discharged as a sergeant.

Survivors include his mother, Wilma Boes, of Breda; a sister, Carol Stark and her husband, Gary, of Carroll; a brother, Larry Boes of New York, N.Y.; and his partner, Michael Rodel of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond Boes.
